Re: how can I get a line chart of pressure and time alone?

To run a HYSPLIT post-processing program such as trajplot manually, meaning not through the GUI, and assuming it is installed on your PC in c:\hysplit, and the file to be plotted is in c:\hysplit4\cluster\working: Start button - All programs - Accessories - Command Prompt (the Command Prompt window ...

Re: how can I get a line chart of pressure and time alone?

In your plot (b) that is a map showing the trajectories, run it again with the -v0 option (..\exec\trajplot ... -v0 ...)

In the cluster GUi it is defaulted to -v4 (none). Running "..\exec\trajplot" gives a list of the possible command line inputs.

Re: TPP6

Yes, in hysplit.t00z.gfsf, the 00z, 06z, 12z, and 18z valid time precipitation values give the amount for the last 6 hours. At valid times 03z, 09z, 15z, and 21z, they give the amount for the last 3 hours. To get the series of 3-hourly precipitation, directly use the values at 03z, 09z, 15z, 21z, an...

As a first step, please get the current version of HYSPLIT, then re-run the cluster analysis.

Yes, this may be a bug. Can you send me one subset of trajectories with this error? My email is Barbara.Stunder@noaa.gov

GDAS1 archive files available from NCEP

NCEP has started creating the weekly GDAS1 archive files in HYSPLIT-format. The files for the current week and the past two weeks are available at ftp://ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/hysplit/prod/gdas/. The file ‘current7days’ is updated every 6 hours. A description of the archive and links...

Re: How to generate multiple G-earth output file?

Yes, at this website http://www.ready.noaa.gov/HYSPLIT_hytrial.php it says to download the utility program first, then HYSPLIT. When HYSPLIT is installed, an icon will be written to the desktop, that icon is double-clicked to start running HYSPLIT. Note the instructions recommend installation in C:\...

Re: Error- none to cluster

Have you run the example case? This is at Trajectory / Special Runs / Clustering /Example. This will give you an idea of how long a run with this set of trajectories takes. You have about twice as many trajectories and they are longer duration so it will take longer, probably one minute or so. Somet...

You can use the cluster analysis or the frequency plot (Trajectory / Display / Frequency).

Re: Error- none to cluster

The trajectories need to be in the "Endpoints folder". After you click "Make INFILE", open the Working folder in MyDocuments, open INFILE with Notepad. All the trajectories should be in the list.
