Re: CAPTEX example IC/BC data
Please check the starting time of the trajectory calculation in the CONTROL file. It seems to be set to 17 UTC. But your WRF run was only for 6 hours. The trajectory calculation did not started at all that there was no value for HYOLAT and HYOLAN. For running trajectory, HYCSUM (concentration) shoul...

Re: CAPTEX example IC/BC data
There is a bug in running the trajectory calculation. Please use the attached hyconc.F file - place it in the /hysp directory and then re-compile the model.

Re: Convert to ARL/NARR Archive Error
The converter works for NARR reanalysis, file name - narr-a_221_{YYYY}{MM}{DD}_{HH}00_000.grb (please check https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S119.htm). The "ERROR: 900" is because of applying the converter to wrong files. 3-hour NARR data in ARL format are available on the following FTP ...

Re: Conversion from GRID1 to ARL
Both api2arl and era52arl are dealing with GRIB format files. It is okay to start with era52arl if you see it fit better.

Re: Conversion from GRID1 to ARL
There are converters for different met data listing on the tutorial page: https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/documents/Tutorial/html/meteo_cnvrt.html Even though some of them (such as NARR, Global lat-lon, and ERA-40) are in GRIB1 format, they have their own converter because variable names, header info, an...

Re: Converting CESM 1.2 output to ARL
Output files from various met models may be in different formats, variable names, and header information. The arw2arl converter was developed primarily for output from WRF-ARW model (in NetCDF format). You can use the arw2arl converter as an example and customize it to work for CESM data. More info ...

The error came when TCL/Tk graphical user interface was trying to launch the HYSPLIT window => https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/documents/Tutorial/images/gui001.png Have you checked: if the setenv DISPLAY was set properly on your machine that windows can be displayed remotely on your local desktop? if the...

Re: Conversion for GEOS
The runset is a subroutine reading the CONTROL file, not reading your ARL formatted file yet at that point. Would you please attach the CONTROL file that we can help your diagnose what caused error? Thanks for making the conversion program for GEOS fp. We would like to include that others can use it...

Re: Input data grids for CONTROL in wrf-hysplit
The CONTROL file used for the inline HYSPLIT is the same for the standard HYSPLIT. You do not need to make any change to it for running inline. For running dispersion with the inline system, you should set run_traj=0 and set other parameters in the &hysplit section like setting up SETUP.CFG for the ...
