Dear HYSPLIT-team,
is there a free HYSPLIT version which I can run under LINUX and which I can use for automatized backward trajectory calculations?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

Area source vs point source
Hello To determine an area source, I should adjust area with every point so the total area over all points represents the area of the main source. But how is the area considered for each point source in HYSPLIT? Circle or square? In other words what is the best way to determine points and allocate a...

Trajectories stop after 24 hours
I have been trying to run hysplit archival forward trajectories with a start date of June 30, 2012. No matter what I do I cannot get the trajectory to run for more than 24 hours.

Clustering memory limit?
During my research project I am running the Hysplit model to calculate back-trajectories at a site for the period 1998-2011. The final goal is to do a cluster analysis of my back-trajectories and to link the obtained clusters with the concentrations of some atmosheric tracers measured at that site. ...

Error starting HYSPLIT
I’ve downloaded PC Hysplit to my computer. After I installed the program and I go to run the program, I get an error message from Windows. Windows says it cannot run the file Hysplit4.tcl. Do you know how to correct this error?

Instructions on how to use model?
We are interested in using the HYSPLIT model as a tool to determine the implications of accidental or intentional releases on the environment. So far we have downloaded the model and relevant associated programs and the ECMF-ERA meteorological data and successfully converted the data and ran a test ...

Is model terrain following?
Is the dispersion component of the model terrain following? Ie. If I'm using the NOAA NCEP/NCAR re-analysis data, and looking at dispersal of particulates for which changes in terrain (height) can affect their descent from the PBL, is it correct to assume this is accounted for in the model? Thanks o...

What are the minimum fields needed for HYSPLIT?
Hello, I am a new user to HYSPLIT. We are trying to convert some Netcfd files to ARL format to do some back trajectories; I can't seem to find documentation about what parameters are required to do back-trajectories. If you could let me know which parameters need to be in our files, or even point us...
