Time Step and Concentration Calculation

Dear all, I would like to clarify something on dispersal modelling. I am aware that time steps vary a lot during simulation. Some time steps are 6 minutes while others can be 12 minutes. The minimum time step is 1 minute. Question1: Does HYSPLIT calculate concentration for a grid cell based on each ...

Dry Deposition

Dear all, I have a question on particle dry deposition. I am aware that Particle Diameter (um), Density (g/cc) and Shape will be overridden by a fixed value for Vel (m/s). Do we have to input a value for Vel (m/s)? Would it be all right to just give a value for Particle Diameter (um), Density (g/cc)...

Re: Multiple Simulations for Dispersal

Dear alicec,

Thank you very much for your help.

Do I have to use batch file scripting? Are there any other ways of doing that?

I have been looking at HYSPLIT. How about Concentration/Special Runs/Daily?

Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks. :)

Kind Regards,

Ming

Configure the Turbulence Method

Dear all, I am new to HYSPLIT. I would just like to confirm something on running dispersal modelling. According to the tutorial, we do not have to configure the turbulence method (7) under Advanced/Configuration Setup/Concentration and just leave it as default. Because HYSPLIT will choose the optima...

Multiple Simulations for Dispersal

Dear all, I am new to HYSPLIT and trying to figure out how to run repeated simulations (weekly basis) for dispersal over a year. For example, the particles were released for 24 hours and the total run time was 168 hours (7 days) for each simulation. Now I would only be able to run HYSPLIT for one si...
