Re: Map Background

There is a shp file for Mexico in the ~/hysplit/graphics directory. Please follow the Readme_graphics.txt to use it in the plotting program.

Re: Plume Arrival Times just does regular plotting

Did you generate sucessfully the output (hysplit2.bin) and other figures like concplot?
Would you please try running the script (conc_disp.sh) and send us the error message if it fails?

Re: Unable to animate GIF

The error message shows an issuing running convert which is a utility in ImageMagick. It seems the convert utility was blocked for security reasons. Please check with your IT for this issue. Or it may relate to the ImageMagick security policy. You can search online and find some discussions and poss...

Re: The cluster Analysis does not work and does not create INFILE

Do you have all fdump{yymmddhh} files in the working directory? They should be generated from the exercise in section 6.1 (#1-3). The error was because the model could not find fdump files in the directory.

Re: which files are meteorological data?

All the met files available on the FTP site are in HYSPLIT ready format (binary) for running trajectory or dispersion. Info about the archive datasets is on https://www.ready.noaa.gov/archives.php. You can also go to the README files in each subdirectory (for archives and forecast data) to get a bet...

Re: Unable to Cleanup Working Directory?

Maybe some files are still in use. Make sure you close all the files and figures before hitting the clean-up button.

Re: Computed Vertical Wind Speed Values

The subroutine for computing WWND from the divergence is [your HYSPLIT dir]/library/hysplit/metdiv.f.
You may consider using vmixing.f (which extract meteorological stability parameters) to add WWND in the extraction. It is [your HYSPLIT dir]/source/vmixing.f

Re: Computed Vertical Wind Speed Values

You can use the "profile" program to extract the vertical wind (WWND) from the ARL formatted file for a location with given lat/long.
For running with command lines => [your HYSPLIT directory]/exec/profile.
For using GUI => https://www.ready.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S132.htm
