Did you finally solve the issue? I'm fairly positive it was an antivirus issue, my former one did the same thing to other programs I installed before I changed it for a new one.

Thanks, I did that and it worked; it helps a lot to be able to extract and view terrain files for our meteorology class!

I can confirm that it helps a lot compared to the older versions (I recently upgraded to 2.1.1 as I had an ancient version), it required some work to represent the 3d models otherwise.

Have you tried running the program you're using to see the files on compatibility mode? It sometimes fixes the issue of Win10 compatibility.

Edit, I've tried that now that I have a computer that works on Win10 and it works.

Wait, there was a tutorial to begin with? Thanks, I'll make sure to study it, we're using Hysplit for our research where I study, but we've never received any formation about how to use it apart from what the professors tell us, and it's a significant loss of time to ask about everything...

I'm not the original author of the thread, but I can confirm that restarting the GUI and making sure that the full path is indicated works.

What version of Windows are you using hysplit on? I haven't had any problem installing it on Win 8.1 64-bit, but one of my colleagues had similar trouble on Win 10 64-bit. I'll ask him how he solved it.
