You will first need to download forecast ARL met files, which can be downloaded to your machine from: ftp.arl.noaa.gov/pub/forecast
Then you can load these files into HYSPLIT using the Add Meteorology Files button you circled in the attachment.

Registered HYSPLIT users can run HYSPLIT with forecast meteorology available at:

Please try running the batch/bash script. If you are using Windows, this involves double clicking on cust_smoke.bat in the Tutorial/batch subdirectory.

You may also want to try hitting reset, restart HYSPLIT, and/or cleanup your working directory.

Let us know if you had any problems with this after restarting again. Our guess is that you missed a setting described in the tutorial.

As of now, no. We will edit the code to allow for up to 999 shapefiles in the next release.

You are not missing out on much by not being able to download files with the gui. It is quite cumbersome to download multiple files with the gui. Downloading multiple files from a ftp client or the command line is faster and easier.

That file exists and is available to download. I suggest heeding the advice of the error message and download the data an alternative way. For windows users, I suggest using an ftp client, such as FileZilla. For linux users, you can download the data from the command line.
