Re: ImageMagick version - up to 7.0.7 required yet not posted

Go ahead and get the ImageMagick-7.0.10. That will probably be what I have on my PC, which was installed fairly recently. The directory mine is in is:
C:/Program Files/ImageMagick-7.0.10-Q16

We have not archived the gdas1 meteorology for January 2004. Please use the Reanalysis instead.

Re: Meteorological data extraction

I may not be understanding your question correctly. Yes, the met data can have a different temporal resolution than the concentration output interval. Search for 'metinp' in the MESSAGE file. That gives the date/time of the meteorology it is reading. For information on the MESSAGE file, see https://...

Re: Meteorological Data

It depends in part on what scale you are interested in. Smaller scale models generally resolve smaller meteorological features, though no model is perfect. Some of our archives have different spatial and temporal resolutions. See https://www.ready.noaa.gov/archives.php. You could try these archives ...

Re: Ensemble Model

This is a feature.  HYSPLIT's default is heights AGL.  As stated https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S611.htm in the section "Height Unit for Input", "Setting this parameter to "1" [for above mean sea level] forces the model to subtract the local terrain height from source input heights bef...

Re: GFS 0p25 File Error

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Yes, there is a problem with that file. I deleted it from the archive and noted that in the file readme_gfs0p25_missings.txt (ftp://ftp.arl.noaa.gov/archives/gfs0p25.v1). Unfortunately we cannot fix the file, so as an alternative, use /archives/gdas0p5/2...

Re: Post processing programs

We have plans to better document the programs in the exec directory, but for now if you manually run each program in the Windows Command Prompt, by just entering the name of the program, most programs give information on the model inputs. For example: C:\hysplit4\exec> con2asc Converts binary concen...
