Re: Restart option for PC

You will also need to create a new CONTROL file with the new starting time

Re: Plotting together trajectories starting at different day

You could use a script to run different trajectories for different days. See the example below: #!/bin/ksh #------------------------------------------------------------- # set default directory structure if not passed through MDL="/home/hysplit4" OUT="." MET="/work" cd $OUT #------------------------...

Re: Restart option for PC

You will need to create a script that runs the model and copies the PARDUMP file to PARINIT.

Re: Converting WRF data to ARL

The meteorological data you need to run hysplit are in the ARLDATA.BIN file. It contains all the fields needed for the model to run.
ARLDATA.CFG and WRFDATA.CFG are the configuration files that can be modified to extract additional meteorological variables.

Re: Converting WRF data to ARL

The conversion time depends on the size of the file you are trying to convert. However, for instance, for a domain that covers the eastern US with a horizontal resolution of ~ 10 km and 40 vertical levels it should take a few seconds for each model hour. I would suggest that, instead of using the GU...

Re: Plotting together trajectories starting at different day

The differences in pressure at your starting point are simply due to variations in the pressure field (passing weather). When you define your source location height at 10 m AMSL the model will read the pressure from the meteorological data at that height at each different stating time; that is what ...

Re: Run HYSPLIT for fire cases

The first thing you need to calculate is your emission rate using some fire emission model which is not included in the HYSPLIT modeling suite. Once you have your emissions as a function of time please follow the example in the following link:

Re: Plotting together trajectories starting at different day

If you are using the GUI to run hysplit, under the display/trajectory menu just write the name of the trajectory output files separated by a "+" (name1+name2+name3+....). If you are running the trajplot program you will need to use the following command line: ../exec/trajplot -iname1+name2+name3+......

Re: How to convert wrf_arw output in Hysplit?

Inside the wrf_arw directory you should have a Makefile with which you can compile the program to convert WRF outputs to ARL format
