Re: Seeking Information on How to Modify Chemistry Module Control File to Use Own Data

Hello,

Here is a good reference you can start with:
https://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/full/1 ... 14-00150.1

You might want to contact Andre Pattantyus. He has done a fair amount of work on this topic.

Re: MAXPAR/NUMPAR upper limit

The lagrangian particles you are releasing in the model do not represent molecules. The intend of the model is to depict the transport, dispersion and deposition of coherent eddies represented by a distribution of lagrangian particles.

Re: MAXPAR/NUMPAR upper limit

1.0E+21 particles is way too much for any computer to handle. We have tested the model with a few million particles but never with so many. Please try with fewer particles.

Re: Phenomenon of fragmentation in concentration calculation.

Please try adding more particles and see if your results are sensitive to that parameter.

Re: How to get hycm_std?

Yes, you need to add hycm_std to the list under "all"
You do not need to uncomment the MPI line.

Re: With or Without EMITIMES?

There should be a release height in the CONTROL file. If not the model will not run. Here is the description of the field that describes the position in the CONTROL file. starting location (lat, lon, meters, Opt-4, Opt-5) Default: 40.0 -90.0 50.0 Position in degrees and decimal (West and South are n...

Re: Area Source

There are two ways you can model an area source with HYSPLIT. You can use a horizontal puff setting its initial area to the area of the city or emitting 3d particles from sources distributed within the area of interest. For the 3d particles you will need to make sure that you are distributing the ma...
