Re: User entered meterological data and terrain height?

If you enter your own meteorology and not use a 3D gridded data set that has terrain, the model will use a flat terrain (1013 hPa) everywhere.

Re: Convert output to text

The output of the trajectory program (tdump) is a text file (you may need to rename it tdump.txt or else open it with Notepad or Wordpad). The output of the dispersion program (cdump) is a binary file. There is a program that comes with the PC version that can convert the binary data to a text file....

Re: How to download model?

This message usually occurs if you did not run and install the utilities package before installing and running HYSPLIT as it is looking for the TCL program to open hysplit.tcl.

Re: Using maptext.cfg and labels.cfg

The maptext.cfg is shared by several programs including the concentration plotting routine (concplot) and the particle display program (partplot). These programs have different parameters and so the maptext.cfg uses some of the lines for concentration, some for trajectories, and shares some lines. G...

Re: How is the relative humidity parameter calculated

Are you referring to the ability of HYSPLIT to output meteorological variables along a trajectory? Or are you referring to how is RH calculated in HYSPLIT from the meteorological fields and used in chemistry routines in the model?

Re: GIS output from batch file

In order to output the GIS formatted files for ascii2shp you need to set the (-a) flag of trajplot to 1 to create a text file such as GIS_traj_ps_01.txt that contains the lat/lon points of the trajectory in GENERATE format. This file is then fed in to ascii2shp.
