Re: number of particles in STILT emulation mode

I sent an email and I should have posted this info on the forums. Sorry about that.

NUMPAR = 500

Files are attached. It seems like deposition is not included when I run in STILT emulation mode.

Re: Hysplit setup without using GUI

Something that helped me was the hysplit tutorial . If you go to a given tutorial example ( lets pick this one for simplicity , and click the little penguin then you download a shell script that will run hysplit. Minor modifications may be necessary depending on the install location. I installed HYS...

number of particles in STILT emulation mode

It seems like when I run the dispersion model in STILT emulation mode, I wind up with only 720 particles. The reason I'm running in this mode is that I want to output the particle locations as ASCII data, but it seems like I'm locked into 180 particles per hour of emission. When I comment out the IC...

Re: HYSPLIT nested grid questions

Thanks, so much, that's exactly what I needed to know. I talked with a colleague, if 2 grid cells is not enough, we may look into trimming the underlying model fields.

Cheers!

Re: HYSPLIT nested grid questions

Thanks for the quick reply. I know I can use the nested data, but my question is, is there any way to tell HYSPLIT to not use the highest resolution at the edge of the high resolution area. So, for example, if I have a 1km grid nested inside a 4km grid, can I tell HYSPLIT to use the 4KM inside the w...

HYSPLIT nested grid questions

I want to do back trajectories with met data generated by WRF runs using a nested grid, but I had some questions. I know that HYSPLIT uses the finest resolution available, but can I do anything to handle edge effects (i.e., use a coarser resolution near the edge of the fine model domain). Do you guy...
