Trajectory "Hits" ground

Hi I'm trying to understand what does it mean if I run a backward trajectory. I did 3 different heights (50, 500, 1500) at my location (31.79 N, 106.68 S) (EDAS 40K) date July 4, 2013 at 00 UTC for 72hr. When I get the output file I see that after a certain time the lower trajectories appear to "hit...

NMEAN PROBLEM when running cluster

I was wondering if you could explain to me what does NMEAN-PROBLEM mean. I am running a trajectory cluster analysis from the pc version and when I hit the "run cluster analysis" it gives me the message above. The simulation log window states: Model started... it is slower at the beginning started Cl...

Special Runs - Daily

When you run the the automated trajectory calculations, it says the default hours are : 00 06 12 18 UTC. Do you have to run the daily runs with only these 4 UTC times or can we say repeat at 21 UTC time instead so it corresponds to the time in MST that I want the trajectories from.

Re: Understand Back Trajectory and the Trajectory Endpoint F

Would it be possible to get a more detail explanation of what is meant by: You should also run trajectories several hours before and after your sample to see if there was a synoptic change in the meteorology that will give some uncertainty to your result. You can find more answer to this question on...

Run time & # of Trajectories General Question

Could you clarify the PC version vs Online version. I have been running comparative runs to better understand what corresponds with what between the PC and online version of Hysplit. On The PC Version: Total run time appears to be different from Total time on the online version. What I understand, t...

Hysplit Run not completing at 100%

Hi I am trying to run a simulation on PC version Hysplit and do a comparison with the online version run I did. When I run it on my PC, the Simulation log stops at 72.5% complete, doesn't finish it to 100% (this same setup I ran it online Hysplit and it did complete at 100%). Would you be able to te...

Understand Back Trajectory and the Trajectory Endpoint File

I was wondering if you could assist me. I ran the Hysplit Trajectory Model (Backtrajectory) Job #12473. I've looked thru your Q&A and the handbook and trainings and I'm not sure what idea behind the backtrajectory I'm missing. My question/problem is when I run this particular job thru the online vs ...
