Re: Automatic download

Section 5.3 of the tutorial is about adding meteorology along the trajectory. Mixing depth is one of the available fields.

Re: Questions about validity of HYSPLIT model generated data

See the information about the ARL GDAS1 archive at https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/archives.php, in particular which fields are in the archived file.

Re: Initialization error

Seeing "autotraj" in the error dump, it appears you were running the (GUI terminology) Trajectory - Special Runs - Daily. Make sure it runs successfully for one trajectory. Then do the Special Runs - Daily.

Re: Generate cluster trajectory with command prompt or script

In the tutorial section 6.1 Frequency Analysis, https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/documents/Tutorial/html/traj_freq.html, the batch script there runs the equivalent of Run Daily for one month. The month variable is "SMO". This script can be modified to add a loop through months. The SETUP.CFG can be writte...

Re: Clarification of Concentration values output from con2asc -c

Yes, assuming you are running the default particle (not puff) model. Please see the corresponding HELP information at https://ready.arl.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S313.htm. Note you are running at a much finer vertical resolution than is typical so you need more model computational particles. The mo...

Re: PARINIT vs. EMITIMES

There does not need to be a release given in the CONTROL file for the model to be initialized by the particles in the PARINIT file as long as the time of the particle position is during the run. See the description of NINIT at https://www.ready.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S627.htm
