conread.txt is created whenever you use the "Simple Listing" program of the GUI to look at the contents of a binary concentration file. It is a text file and can be opened to read it, however if you no longer need it, delete it.

The program zip.exe should be in the hysplit4/exec directory.

Yes, in the Concentration Setup menu, choose the green button labeled "Setup starting locations" where you can enter the height of the release in meters for each release location.

You might want to check out the latest version of the HYSPLIT GUI as we now allow more than 30 days in the "Run Daily" trajectory option of HYSPLIT. We do not supply the deposition parameters for radio-nuclides besides the ones defined in the GUI (Cs-137, I-131g, I-131p, etc) as these values are not well known.

The issue is that the program that uses the surface observation only creates a 250 x 250 km grid centered over your observation location. It is only designed to be used for very short range simulations since using one surface observation is not representative the farther you are away from the observ...

The meteorological data is linearly interpolated in both space and time during the calculation.
