Ensemble trajectories and uncertainty assessment

I am working on estimating the degree that aerosols encountered clouds along their back trajectories. Because it is near ground sampling, I am setting the initial height to be 0.1 * PBL height (~60-120 m). 27 ensemble trajectories were used to account for uncertainties. The default offset in z dimen...

Re: Plotting meteorology along the trajectory

Thank you for your information. I want to plot cloud cover/occurrence along the trajectory and use the ERA5 as meteorological input. I tried two methods: one is to do that external to HYSPLIT by interpolating the endpoints output from HYSPLIT to the ERA5 cloud product in GRIB format, and the second ...

Plotting meteorology along the trajectory

Hello, I would like to plot meteorological data along the trajectory. HYSPLIT has codes for reading tdump in Python. But I am not sure if Python supports reading the ear52arl data format? Thank you!

Re: ERA52ARL code compilation error

There is a zip file containing the source code for a subset the HYSPLIT library for compiling many HYSPLIT data converters. Download the hysplit_data2arl.zip from https://www.ready.noaa.gov/HYSPLIT_data2arl.php. The zip file also contains the source code for data converters. Thank you!! Making libh...

Re: ERA52ARL code compilation error

Thank you so much Sonny for your prompt reply! This resource is helpful! Is there a more specific guide on how to compile the subroutines in the library? This is new to me.

Re: ERA52ARL code compilation error

I realized that the HYSPLIT distribution for macOS does not contain the libhysplit.a file. The missing subroutines pakinp, pakndx, etc. are in the HYSPLIT library file. I will contact you via email. Hi there, I am having the same issue when compiling the era52arl.f90 file. I wonder how the missing ...
