Re: Grid concentrations not what I expect
A small update in this area. I realised that the various particle parameters were set too low for what I was trying to, and emissions were aborted prematurely. By greatly increasing the number of particles emitted in one cycle the emission reflected what I thought they should be. Emissions happened ...

Re: HYSPLIT not proceeding when using EMITIMES
I found out that the CONTROL file should have the same number of emission sources/events as listed in the EMITIMES. The EMITIMES file is setup in the Advanced section of the GUI, while the CONTROL files is build in the Setup section. While the EMITIMES overrides other inputs, the number of emission ...

Grid concentrations not what I expect
I'm simulating four fires emitting 15000 g/hr PM2.5 per hour, for 24 hours, starting 2024 30 00, and the particle plot (PARTPLOT) shows what I would expect. Particles being emitted for 24 hours, dispersing and then ceasing to emit after 24 hours. The grid concentrations however, seem to show emissio...

HYSPLIT not proceeding when using EMITIMES
I want to increase the number of emission points, using EMITIMES. While going through the documentation and following the instructions of the Workshop when using the example of the Volcano emission, everything works fine and the outputs are as per documentation but when I make changes to the EMITIME...

Effect of emission area on output
I have been varying the area of the emission source in the emission file (EMITIMES) from a point source to a very large area but that is not reflected in the display output. The KMZ display is determined by the set grid resolution, but the emission area is not displayed. Is that normal?

User entered data display limitations
I'm creating some weather data using the User data Entered option. It's then converted to to a xx.bin file which is used in the trajectory calculation. When the weather data time exceed eg. 40 hours then the display program only limits to a display of 40 data points even though the run time is 56 ho...

Handeling Metdata from NetCDF
I'm creating a subset of meteodata using the NetCDF subset service for Grids. After producing an output file (eg. TP.nc) I import that into the meteorology option of HYSPLIT with the Convert WRF-ARW output file to ARL format option. That runs fine without any errors but an output file (e.g. ARW2410)...

Processing GDAS from Grib Filter data
I'm generating a subset of GFS-Op50 metdata using the GRIBFilter site. The file produced (eg. gdas.t12z.pgrb2.Op25) I present to HYSPLIT to the WRF-ARW menu for output in ARL format. The reading and the processing run without problems but a ARW.... file is not generated. How can I resolve this issue...

Met data
Hi there, where can I find appropriate gridded MET data to be used in HYSPLIT for Pakistan.
Thank you.
Thank you.
