Re: #8.1 - check for release of 201kg
Thank you! That MESSAGE file note really helped. My output file looks identical to that, so I think I did do this step right. I will redo all the other steps to recompare plots. It is possible I had something set wrong in the plot display section, I will go over all the notes again. Thanks!

Re: #8.1 - check for release of 201kg
Possibly related to this, when I go through the tutorial steps, I often get min/max values in the plots which don't match the plots that you have posted as 'solutions'. I'm wondering if this has something to do with my getting this initial step wrong.

#8.1 - check for release of 201kg
For the end of section 8.1, where in the MESSAGE file would it specify the 201 kg release number? At the very top I see a 'kg' column, but it reads 1, not 201. I followed all the steps in 8.1 exactly.

#9.2 Step 5
Can you explain how to define two layers, as suggested in step 5 of section 9.2? There's no accompanying graphic and I can't see where in the Setup Run menu this can be adjusted. Thanks!

Re: Mac OS Catalina: ps to pdf conversion keeps failing
The GUI is creating the postscript file fine in all cases, it's just not being viewed properly in Preview. As I said in my last post, it seems to be an intermittent problem, and also on my Mac side, and I have a work around (ps2pdf) so it's ok for now.

Re: Mac OS Catalina: ps to pdf conversion keeps failing
The problem seems very intermittent, sometimes it won't open ps files after 6-7 clicks, sometimes it will open them on a first or second click. I have updated all my apps (not planning to upgrade to Big Sur yet).

Re: Mac OS Catalina: ps to pdf conversion keeps failing
I tried resetting and also closing out the GUI and restarting it, same problem persists. I can view the file if I do a command line ps2pdf and then double click to view it in Preview (which is my default pdf viewer). But clicking through 'Execute Display' seems to have stopped working altogether.

Mac OS Catalina: ps to pdf conversion keeps failing
Starting around the end of Section 4, I began having an issue when clicking 'Execute Display', I would get an error saying 'ps could not be converted to pdf'. Clicking the second time usually produced the desired plot. However, about halfway through Section 5, I no longer get any plots no matter how...

Mac OS Catalina: enable Hysplit to be a 'safe' program
The first time I run any of the menu options from the GUI, I get an error and have to go to 'Security & Privacy' and click 'Allow Anyway'. Then it runs fine every subsequent time. Is there a way to set Hysplit as a safe program universally so this doesn't keep popping up? (Sorry I missed this at the...
