Hello,
I am curious as to where the particle shape factor input from 1-2 comes from for the Hysplit model? The particles I use for a volcanic plume have a shape factor of 0.43. How would I convert the 0.43 shape to fit within Hysplit's 1-2 shape factor input?
Best,
Kyle

Changing Settling Velocity
Hi, I understand how HySPLIT calculates settling velocity for the simulations, but I was wondering how do you change the velocity of a particular particle size within a command script, can you have different settling velocities for different particle sizes? Or is there a way to change the drag coeff...

Turbulent Structures
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how HySLIT generates smaller resolution structures within the Plumes when the meteodata file's resolution is much higher. Example: If I am using ERA5 meteodata at 27 km grid resolution and I run HySPLIT with a 1 km resolution, it appears small structures form w...

Lateral Diffusion within Plume
Hello, I have been running a coupled HySPLIT model with a volcanic plume model and our volcanic depositions are extremely narrow, to where it does not seem there is really any lateral diffusion within the plume. I was wondering if there is a way to change the lateral diffusion within the plume? I se...

Re: Projection displaced
Hi,
Thanks. I will ask my question there and I may have gotten confused, but I though MeteoMap is part of MeteoInfo?
Best,
Kyle

Re: Convert to Station
Hello,
This seemed to work. Slightly disappointing I don't get the progress update on the xwindow anymore.
Best,
Kyle

Projection error with concentration drawings
Hi, I have been using a coupled HySPLIT model with a volcanic dynamic plume model. I have been having this re-occurring issue where my deposit shows up fine on the created .ps files created from HySPLIT, but when I try to upload the data into MeteoInfo the projection is off. Is there a flag I need t...

Hi, When I try to download the meteorlogical data through the GUI I receive an error stating the no such file or directory. Is there a place I need to put in the file directory or url? Thank you, Kyle couldn't execute "ftp": no such file or directory couldn't execute "ftp": no such file or directory...
