Regarding output of gdas1 trajectory output
If I select all the all the extra information(Pressure, relative humidty, specific humidity, sun_flux etc), I will get 22 columns in my output file. I can understand what most of them are. But can anyone let me know what the three columns between 'hour' and 'lat' are for? And I'm curious, since gdas...

Questions about validity of HYSPLIT model generated data
For my research, I'm using HYSPLIT gdas1 files to generate mixing layer depth on certain areas. I'm given to understand HYSPLIT takes in certain data, run some model, and do some "nudging" to keep compliance with some observed real world data provided. And each run can give back abundant data about ...

"Run Hysplit4.LNK access is denied" error on installation
This morning, my computer's antivirus software was acting up and somehow my hysplit.tcl short cut on desktop got erased. So I had to reinstall tcl, ghostscript and hysplit. However, upon installing hysplit this error popped up<in the following graph> and could not run anything with hysplit, not even...

Initialization error
Has anyone seen this error before? I tried to get mix layer depth files with gdas1 meteorology files and this popped up, not sure what I did wrong.

Re: Generate cluster trajectory with command prompt or script
Thank you for your quick response! The tutorial 6.1 does look familiar with the task i'm tackling. However, I encountered another unexpected error when I was using HYSPLIT GUI on my PC. I followed my normal procedure and only used two meteorology files, and this error popped up. Please let me know w...

Generate cluster trajectory with command prompt or script
For my research I need to use Hysplit to generate mix layer depth(MLD) data at various locations around the globe and keep track them every hour to analyze trend of MLD change along with time. And I know exactly how to do that with Hysplit GUI: in Trajectory Setup, pick a starting time and location,...

Re: "Flooring effect" on mixing layer depth data generated from GDAS files
Thank you very much for your comment. After I made the changes in Hysplit GUI, the flooring effect went away. However, I realized running Hysplit with shell command is far more efficient and that's what i have been trying to do with R language. I'm pretty new to this and has a lot to figure out. Cou...

"Flooring effect" on mixing layer depth data generated from GDAS files
I found an interesting phenomenon regarding data generated by the trajectory function, namely, a “flooring effect” on “MIXDEPTH” data. In data generated from “gdas1" meteorology files, at winter time, normally Nov to Jan(Or July in southern hemisphere) there is always a minimum threshold for mixing ...
