Re: Series of control files in trajectory
As you wrote, scripting can be very useful to run many trajectories. Please see Sec. 4.1 of our HYSPLIT tutorial at https://www.ready.noaa.gov/documents/Tutorial/html/traj_basic.html. Click the terminal icon to the left of the penguin icon to view a Windows script that performs HYSPLIT trajectory. D...

Re: Error in "Run Model"
For diagnosis, could you post your CONTROL, MESSAGE, and SETUP.CFG? If you are running HYSPLIT using a Windows PC and your HYSPLIT is installed at C:\hysplit, the files should be found in C:\hysplit\working. Note SETUP.CFG may not have been created if you didn't change the trajectory setup under the...

Re: HYSPLIT PC – Exit Code 900 with GDAS and RP.gbl Files (Meteorological Input Format Issue)
Your CONTROL files appear to be missing a meteorological data directory. In addition, the directory of trajectory output file must end with the appropriate slash. Please see https://www.ready.noaa.gov/hysplitusersguide/S262.htm for the Trajectory CONTROL file format and ensure your CONTROL files fol...

Re: HYSPLIT PC – Exit Code 900 with GDAS and RP.gbl Files (Meteorological Input Format Issue)
The NCEP/NCAR reanalysis files (R*.gbl) are already in the ARL format and they are readily usable with HYSPLIT. No conversion is required. To diagnose the issue you reported, could you post SETUP.CFG, CONTROL, and MESSAGE files from your failed trajectory run? ARL has a GDAS one-degree archive. Plea...

Re: No Trajectory Display output
Are you using HYSPLIT on a Windows PC? Also are you using the Python graphics option provided by the HYSPLIT GUI?

Re: tiles for HRRR forecast data
No tiles are created for HRRR. What the use case would be for HRRR tiles? I am just curious.

Re: Information posted on the title
Thanks for making the trajectory file available. We see all of the meteorology forecast hours are 999. Subtraction of 999 hours from 1200Z, Dec 24, 2023 yields 2100Z, Nov 12, 2023 which is just one hour off from the date and time of meteorology initialization on your plot. We will need to look into ...

Re: Information posted on the title
We do not see a trajectory dump file in your zip file. Please have it available for diagnosis. Examination of your MESSAGE file shows that meteorology data from Dec 24, 2023 at 12Z to Dec 23 at 12Z were used for your 24 hour backward trajectory run. Supposing your daily meteorology files start at 12...
