Re: Conversion for GEOS
I am back to using HYSPLIT and once again want to force it with GEOS. Could someone advise what the appropriate METGRID.CFG and cfgrec.f should contain. GEOS FP currently has 1152 longitude points from -180 to 180 and 721 latitude points from -90 to 90. I am able to generate files but when running t...

Re: Conversion for GEOS
It has been a while but I am beginning to look into using GEOS with HYSPLIT again. I have been able to run my modified code that converts GEOS data to ARL however I noticed when running HYSPLIT, it crashes whenever the trajectory would cross the prime meridian. My thought is that the input data is -...

Re: Conversion for GEOS
I made some modifications to the codes in /data2arl/mer2arl, as documented below, so that GEOS fp could be used. I was able to create an ARL file without any errors, which opened up using "check file" in the meteorology tab with the GUI (though the x dimension in the header was cutoff to reflect 115...

Conversion for GEOS
Has anyone modified the codes in /data2arl/mer2arl to use the GEOS FP data instead of MERRA-2? There are some differences in the data including the horizontal resolution and single time step for each file, aside from where the data needs to be downloaded from (https://portal.nccs.nasa.gov/datashare/...

Using Multiple Data Files as Input
Hello, I am running hysplit on linux using the example .sh script given in the tutorial. I would like to have back trajectories extend back multiple days, which requires more than one input file. How should the script be modified in order to do this? I tried to add in another line for data but when ...

Re: MERRA2 dataset
Thanks for making a conversion program available for MERRA-2! I already have MERRA-2 data and do not need to run the wget script, however it is on a -180 to 180 grid as opposed to 0 to 360. I tried to modify mer2arl.f by commenting out the following section: ! do ii=1,nxp ! idx=ii-289+1 ! if (idx .l...

MERRA-2 Data for HYSPLIT
Hello,
After searching the forum I found an out post stating that MERRA does not provide he variables needed to force HYSPLIT. Is this the case for MERRA-2 as well? If so, what variables would need to be added to the data collection?
Thanks!
