Heat will be important to calculate releae height for smoke emission (see section 14.1).
The example in 16.5 is for volcanic ash applications where the emission heights are explicitly provided in the EMITIMES file. In this case, HEAT is not used.

Although this thread is titled as "vehicular emissions", the content seems to indicate you are interested in straw stubble burning. It is possible to only issue burning permits when smoke generated from stubble burning has less effect to human health (e.g. smoke will not transport to populated area)...

Yes, I agree. Because of the stochastic feature of atmospheric flow, it is always better to have multiple trajectory runs instead of only relying on a single trajectory.

It is normal to have the max/min values differ from the results shown in the tutorial. However, if the differences are too much it may indicate something wrong.
