Re: Failure to Compile HYSPLIT LINUX on Cheyenne

Thank you for clarifying. I re-compiled HYSPLIT using the IFORT/ICC compilers with typos corrected and was able to generate the executables. However, the compiling process was very very slow during the FCSUBS portion (~1-hour?). The compile also crashed at this stage: Building fcsubs library Buildin...

Re: Failure to Compile HYSPLIT LINUX on Cheyenne

Thank you for your detailed response. Unfortunately, I was unable to compile HYSPLIT using the INTEL compiler following the steps you suggested. I do not have IFORT 17.0.4 available to me - we have ICC/IFORT version 17.0.1 (20161005) installed on Cheyenne. I am not sure if there are version differen...

Re: Failure to Compile HYSPLIT LINUX on Cheyenne

Correct. I executed my compile.sh script in my trunk directory. Here are my version.txt contents: Last Changed Rev: 1010 Last Changed Date: 2019-05-21 10:00:54 -0600 (Tue, 21 May 2019) I am using intel/17.0.1 (the default compiler on Cheyenne) and when I type which gcc I see /gpfs/u/apps/ch/opt/ncar...

Failure to Compile HYSPLIT LINUX on Cheyenne

Hello, I came across an issue that I cannot resolve in compiling HYSPLIT LINUX on NCAR's Cheyenne supercomputer. I was able to successfully compile a few days ago using intel/17.0.1 and the tests ran successfully. However, I was getting a configure: error: linking to Fortran libraries from C fails a...

HYSPLIT Data Interpolation

Hello! I was wondering how the HYSPLIT trajectory model interpolates between meteorological model data points in time. For instance (and hypothetically), if I have 3-hourly temporal resolution data, and my delta t (time step) is one-hour, how would HYSPLIT compute the wind speed (thus, air parcel ve...

Re: Multi-processor on Windows PC

I would like to follow up on the previous question...

Is it still the case that there is no multi-processor option for Windows? I could set up the suggested solution with multiple working directories, but just wanted to check on this before doing so.

Thank you so much for your time.

Re: Display of Other Along-Traj Variables

Thank you both for your responses and for the provision of the MeteoInfoLab along-traj code, which is very useful! I will also go ahead and try to modify my Hysplit fortran code over the next couple of weeks/months. I will most certainly share if I am successful.

Re: Display of Other Along-Traj Variables

Thank you so much for your reply. I completely misunderstood page 55 of the HYSPLIT User's Manual (Revised January 2017) which lists LHTF and SHTF as parameters that the model can read. What is that referring to? Is that referring to the ARL formatting of data? If I were to attempt to modify my desk...

Display of Other Along-Traj Variables

I have a question regarding advanced configuration of HYSPLIT.  I am currently using NARR data in ARL format and everything is working great so far for basic trajectory generation. I know how to access/modify the SETUP file. How can I make it so that HYSPLIT displays latent/sensible heat flux variab...
