Re: caveat on converts ERA to ARL format

Hi Ryan,

I am having a similar issue. I find that trajectories for ERA-Interim data get stuck on certain days for each month, generally around the 14th-16th. Were you able to find a solution?

If not, can anyone else share some insight?

Thanks,
Miriam

Re: Backward Daily Trajectory with ECMWF Error

I am using ERA Interim, Daily and converting it using the HYSPLIT GUI. I receive the following error when running a daily trajectory over one month. I tried specifying the time steps that you listed, but still received the following error:

Errors after Reset

After resetting the application, a number of errors are appearing. Directly after hitting reset, the following error appears: Error: error copying "sample_traj": no such file or directory Similarly, when I open Setup Trajectory, I receive the same error with respect to "default_traj". I checked my w...

Re: Non-homogenous Time Steps for Trajectories

I do know which tdump files I want. My question is how do I then visualize the trajectory (in Google Earth) using the specific group of tdump files that I want to use?

Backward Daily Trajectory with ECMWF Error

I am trying to run a daily backward trajectory over a month using ECMWF data, but HYSPLIT will only successfully run days 2 through 14. Can anyone tell me why I am getting stuck here? To create my ERA grib files, I download 3D, 2D, and invariant data. Should I be selecting a specific time step for t...

Re: Non-homogenous Time Steps for Trajectories

Thanks for responding.

If I go route (1), do you mean I should delete the "tdump" files that I don't want? If that is the case, how can I display a trajectory after deleting the tdump files that I don't want?

Non-homogenous Time Steps for Trajectories

Hi,

Is it possible to create an array of times over which trajectories will run?

Specifically, I want to create a summarized trajectory for days when the wind was blowing in one particular direction. These days are unevenly distributed in time.

Thanks,
Miriam

Re: ECMWF File Names Have Changed

I did not initially see the separate tabs for "Surface" and "Pressure Levels". That was the issue.

Thanks,
Miriam

ECMWF File Names Have Changed

I am trying to convert ECMWF Interim, Daily files to ARL format. From this site: http://apps.ecmwf.int/datasets/data/interim-full-daily/levtype=sfc/ The variables that are asked for in the GUI (geop, temp, uvel, vvel, etc.) are not the same as those listed on the ECMWF website, as it was updated wit...
