Re: HYSPLIT not wanting to run cluster.exe

Thanks Dr. Stunder! I checked the trajectory output files and there were only three files that had less than 120 hours (they had 119). The trajectory output files I used yesterday also included a number of meteorological parameters that included with the trajectory endpoints. On a whim, I decided to...

HYSPLIT not wanting to run cluster.exe

I have a set of 370 trajectories (each with a length of 120 hours) that I wish to cluster. I can get INFILE to form correctly, but when I try to run the cluster analysis I get the following error: "Not trajectories to cluster. Check trajectory duration in the files in INFILE and/or the Hours to clus...

HYSPLIT Road Map

NOAA Staff,

Thanks so much for all the work you do with HYSPLIT and for its users! Is there a general road map of where you see HYSPLIT going in the next few years? If so, could you share a general summary? Thanks!!

A quick follow up question Re: Appropriate grid resolution for trajectory statistics

When building the data grid for my analysis, should I stay faithful to the original description in the NARR readme.txt file? Lambert Conformal Conic Projection Vert. Coordinate 2 Pole Lat. 90.00 Pole Lon. 0.00 Ref. Lat. 50.00 Ref. Lon. -107.00 Ref. Grid 32.46 Orientation 0.00 Cone Angle 50.00 Sync X...

Re: Industrial accident simulation

HYSPLIT requires meteorological input data to be in a specific format: ARL packed. NOAA has archived ARL packed meteorological files for use in HYSPLIT on the following page: http://www.ready.noaa.gov/archives.php . Most of the model files archived on this page are for for North America and do not i...

Appropriate grid resolution for trajectory statistics

When using HYSPLIT to generate trajectory statistics (i.e. frequency analyses), is there a general rule of thumb about selecting an appropriate grid resolution (e.g. 1.0 degree versus 0.25 or 0.5 degrees)? I typically use North American Regional Reanalysis files with the 32km grid size for my meteor...

Re: Problem getting trajectories clustered

Correct! Clustering with about 1050 trajectories is working consistently from the command line, but not from the GUI.

Re: Problem getting trajectories clustered

 First off, I have to apologize for posting the same problem that a different user posted a few months ago and the same problem that I apparently had a couple of years ago (time flies and I'm getting older I guess). That being said, I followed Ms. Stunder's advice ran cluster.exe from the comm...

Problem getting trajectories clustered

I'm trying to cluster trajectories for a couple of EPA CASTNET ozone sites over a three year period (about 1050 back trajectories for each site). I'm using the 64 bit version of HYSPLIT (June 2015/svn 761). The length of each trajectory is 72 hours. For one monitoring site I was able to get all the ...
